Camagüey, Cuba, April 19th.- The Office of the City Historian deserved recognition from the Provincial Directorate of Heritage for the work they have carried out for years in order to preserve the material and intangible wealth of the region.

In the context of the celebrations for the International Day of Monuments and Sites, in the event that took place at Agramonte Park, the rescue of properties of high historical value was highlighted, in addition to promoting an artistic program that reinforces the local traditions.

Yuneisi Soto Rodríguez, principal specialist of the Monuments Office, commented that this year the commemoration has as its motto Heritage resilient to disasters and conflicts, tempered to the situation experienced in various areas of the planet.

In the emblematic park of Camagüey, the children’s digital photography contest was also awarded, in which the participants sought to know how to capture the attractions of the history that survives in each space of the City of Tinajones.

In addition, beauty was sung from the voice of the troubadour Antonio Batista and the little members of the Arlequín Artistic Ensemble demonstrated their skills while the music of Adalberto Álvarez and his Son, A Bayamo by car played.
