Nuevitas Thermoelectric Plant plans to generate 89,000 Megawatts this month

Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 8th.- The generation of the 89 thousand Megawatts (MW) planned for the current month, represents the main objective of the group of the 10 de Octubre Thermoelectric Plant of Nuevitas.

Jorge Luis Maceira Esteva, general director of the aforementioned industry, assured that blocks five and six remain in a stable manner synchronized with the National Electroenergy System (SEN, Spanish Acronym) contributing 90 and 95 MW, respectively.

We plan a repair in unit six for the first quarter of next year, with the purpose of increasing the generation load to more than 100 MW, which includes changing the economizer, cleaning the passage areas, the convective axes and the boiler aggregates, the engineer said.

The duration of this stoppage, he indicated, will be 45 to 65 days and will include the work of the workers of the Power Plant Maintenance Company, who, together with the team of specialists and technicians from the Camagüey industry, will be in charge of the indicated activities with the knowledge and responsibility that characterizes them.

Increasing the generation capacity of the plant and maintaining a stable service to the population are the aspirations of an entity that was inaugurated in 1968 and remains at the forefront of prioritized programs.

Located in one of the most important industrial cities in Cuba, the 10 de Octubre Thermoelectric Plant has men and women who, in a very difficult year, give their wisdom and dedication every day.
