Distinction awarded for the 509th Anniversary of Camagüey during a radio event

Maceísta Circuit was held in the city, where research linked to the Maceo Grajales family was presented

Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 8th.- In the context of the VIII Meeting of Stations of the Maceísta Circuit , the 509th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Villa de Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe Distinction was awarded to scholars of the work of the Bronze Titan.

Gilberto Guerrero López, director of the Plaza de la Revolución Antonio Maceo Grajales; and Carmen Montalvo Suárez, head of the Study Center dedicated to the independence fighter, both institutions in Santiago de Cuba, received the recognition given by the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power of Camagüey.

The radio sense of a life distinction was also awarded to Sonia Tasé Izaguirre, who works as program director of the Santiago radio station Radio Titán and one of the main managers of the radio meeting.

The Nicolás Guillén Protocol Hall, in the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, hosted the ceremony that was presided over by Federico Hernández Hernández, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, and by Governor Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia.

On the emblematic stage, the bronze replica of the equestrian figure of Antonio Maceo, the work of sculptor Alberto Lescay, was delivered to the Provincial Radio Directorate of Camagüey. Merencio, cast in the workshops of the Caguayo Foundation.

Maceísta Circuit was held in the city, where research linked to the Maceo Grajales family was presented and the Mariana series, carried out by the Nino Moncada Dramatic Group, won the Grand Prize.

Yuzaima Cardona Villena, general director of Cuban Radio, highlighted the importance of maintaining historical themes in the programming and doing so in a creative way in order to satisfy the taste of the audiences, also with the use of languages imposed by the advancement of New technologies of information and communication.
