Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 7th.- The floral offering of the Camagüey people for Antonio Maceo Grajales presided over the tribute to the Bronze Titan on the 127th anniversary of his fall in combat alongside the young patriot Panchito Gómez Toro.

Leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government, youth and mass organizations gathered in the square of the same name to remember one of the most important figures in the most struggles for national sovereignty.

There, several students received their membership cards as members of the Union of Young Communists (UJC, Spanish Acronym), and Dania Díaz Socarrás, head of the Movimiento Juvenil Martiano in the province, described the cooperation of Cubans in the liberation of several nations from the African continent.

«We continue to build history with the solidarity of men and women from different sectors, in each job, through the proud children of the Homeland,» he said, while inviting us to trust in the force of ideals as Maceo did.

After the event, the Provincial Concert Band guided those present to the Camagüey necropolis to lay floral offerings and, together with their families, pay well-deserved tribute to those who fell in internationalist missions.

There Juan Carlos Blanco Lores, municipal secretary of the UJC, reaffirmed the commitment of the present generations to defend the legacy of the Cuban Revolution and keep alive the ideals of the heroes and martyrs of the Homeland.
