Camagüey, Cuba, April 17th.- With various activities, the Enrique José Varona Provincial Book and Literature Center joins the commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of the victory of the Cuban people in the sands of Playa Girón.

The literary day prepared for the occasion will be a space to bring the public closer to the bibliography that during these years collects the experiences of the protagonists of one of the most important events of the national epic, commented Yoanis Soriano Cabrera, specialist at the Promotion Center. Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda.

The Voces del gentío peña, led by local writer Alejandro González Bermúdez, will bring together emerging voices of local creation this morning; while the film critic Armando Pérez Padrón will show in the afternoon one of the audiovisual passages inspired by the events of April 1961.

Next Friday the book Peasant Struggles in Camagüey will be presented at the provincial headquarters of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, by historians Fernando Crespo and Francisco Luna.

And on that same date, but at 3:00 in the afternoon at the Mariana Grajales Bookstore, the volume will once again dialogue with readers as part of the literary Sabana group, led every month by the writer Benito Estrada.

In grandparents’ circles, cultural institutions and recreational centers, the proposals for the literary day Girón, la victoria, a tribute from letters to the history of resistance of the Cuban people, will take place until April 19.
