Camagüey, Cuba, March 25th.- Most of the meeting of the Temporary Government Work Group in the municipality of Camagüey was dedicated to analyzing the work of the Community Services unit in the territory.
At the meeting it was learned that today the sector’s actions do not reach the efficiency that is needed if it is taken into account that only about 800 cubic meters of solid waste are collected daily, 35 percent of what is generated in the city.
This reality requires better organization of work and permanent control of the available equipment so that they comply with the established trips and transfer the planned quantities of garbage to the landfills each day.
The aim was to establish a system to achieve sustainability in the task and for the population to know the days and times of collection to avoid the proliferation of micro landfills in different places.
With the aim of reversing the results, a group of teams from the Ministry of Construction, Hydraulic Resources and the Geomining Company will from now on reinforce the work of Community Services in the capital of Camagüey.
Yoandrys Ruiz Villalón, highest political authority in the municipality, called for better use of human resources and greater attention to achieve an increasingly cleaner city.
