Camagüey, Cuba, January 27th.- From very early hours, characters from the book The Golden Age and other texts authored by José Martí began to travel through the streets of the half-millennial city, they went to meet the Apostle of the Independence of Cuba.

The groups from 25 schools and their families, some of the closest to the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, were summoned to bring the magic of childhood to the emblematic enclave of the City of Tinajones.

Andrea Rivero Díaz, from the second grade of the Renato Guitar elementary school, was inspired by the poem The Spanish Dancer and commented -while moving her red fringed cloak- that in the classroom they taught her that being good students is the best way to remember Martí.

The Martiana Parade was the initiative designed for the other primary and secondary education centers as a timely prelude to the Torch March that the new generations will star in throughout the Island tonight.

«We Cubans keep alive the ideology of the Apostle, his virtues, the journalistic and political work; ideas that transcend 171 years since her birth”, commented a young educator recognized with the January 28 Condition.

Like her, a group of students and base guides deserved the encouragement of the José Martí Pioneers Organization, while representatives of the amateur artists movement threatened the morning in which Meñique and Nené Traviesa were seen again in these parts.
