Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 14th.- A new laboratory for physical, chemical and organoleptic analysis was inaugurated in the Puerto Príncipe Rum and Wine Factory Base Business Unit, in this half-millennial city.
Efren Romero Pelegrín, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba that serves the Agri-Food Sphere, cut the ribbon that left the premises open, whose execution is valued at four and a half million pesos in total.
This industry is accredited with the Cuban Food Safety Standard 136 and aspires to implement a quality management system with the ISO 901 provision, to which the opening of the laboratory will contribute.
At the same time, the 510th Anniversary Rum of the Foundation of the former town of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe was presented, which will be sold mainly in hotel chains and in the network of stores.
Liuven Veloz González, director of the Camagüey Beverages and Soft Drinks Company, specified that around two thousand boxes of 12 units each, with 38 percent alcohol, will be available.
For her part, Noemi Del Toro Del Toro, master of Cuban Rum, valued the love and commitment of the workers in that industry as very important to provide a pleasant product for the city’s new birthday.
