Commitment of Health workers is recognized in Camagüey

Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 2nd.- The daily dedication in the work of assistance, teaching, research and assurance to the services of workers in the health sector was recognized in this city regarding Latin American Medicine Day.

Dr. Carlos Morán Giraldo, provincial director of Public Health, conveyed congratulations to the union on the 190th anniversary of the birth of the eminent Camagüey scientist Carlos J. Finlay; and referred to the systematic action in pursuit of raising the quality of care.

At the event on that date, held at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech Teaching Hospital in the capital of Camagüey, the main authorities of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government in the province gave recognition to the professionals of the sector for the humanism that they show every day to guarantee the health of the people.

Also, he congratulated the union on behalf of the people of Camagüey for all the joys they give every day. “They are continuators of the work of Finlay and the health project of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz”, he said.

Several mass organizations and entities with which there are links for community assistance joined the celebration, in addition to entertaining entities of the Health System at different levels.

The master’s degree in science Milagros Margarita Guerra Cruz, general secretary of the Health Workers Union in the province, reaffirmed the union’s commitment to the well-being of the population, including that of the more than 300 thousand doctors who currently carry out an internationalist mission.
