Camagüey, Cuba, Nov 25th.- The Adelante newspaper of this province welcomed the election of the territory’s fourth direct delegate to the XII Congress of the Union of Young Communists (UJC, Spanish Acronym).

Jorge Enrique Jerez Belisario, correspondent of the Granma newspaper in the territory, was selected to represent the youth of Camagüey at the national event.

The young man is at the head of the UJC base committee in the newspaper, which is made up of five militants, deserving of the Flag of Honor in 2021, the highest distinction awarded by the youth organization for these structures.

Jerez Belisario thanked his colleagues for the positive work results, highlighted the leading role of young people in the Camagüey newspaper and the importance of the commitment to represent the new generations of journalists.

Lianet Pazo Cedeño, member of the National Bureau of the UJC and president of the José Martí Pioneers Organization, accredited the young man as a direct delegate.

Also present at the meeting were members of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, the UJC secretariat in Camagüey, representatives of the Cándido González district, invited leaders and the board of directors and workers of the media outlet.
