Camagüey, Cuba, October 29th.- With a call to strengthen the new government structures in the municipalities, the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC, Spanish Acronym) and vice president of the Republic, Salvador Valdés Mesa, evaluated important economic and social in the municipalities of Nuevitas and Minas.

In exchange with the Administration Council in each territory, he insisted on local autonomy and potential to decentralize resources and promote production, while at the same time he was interested in completing the staff in the Government bodies.

Valdés Mesa was also concerned about the functioning of the contracting and price coordination committees and the increase in the offers of goods and services to comply with everything stipulated in the Law on Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security.

With the presence of Walter Simón Noris, member of the Provincial Bureau of the PCC and Vice Governor Yennis León Mayedo, priority issues were analyzed to counteract the difficult economic situation of the nation and replace the import of several items of the regulated family basket.

During the day it emerged that Nuevitas currently has a budget deficit of more than 200 million pesos, hence Valdés Mesa insisted on the responsibilities of the Directorate of Economy and Planning and other organizations to reverse these indicators.

He also referred to attention to neighborhoods so that vulnerable people, nuclei and communities are identified and strategies are adopted to transform these realities, a maxim of the Cuban socialist state.
