Camagüey, Cuba, October 18th.- The Chair of Gender, Family and Society of the Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz University of Camagüey, in the last five years has had a strong presence in the institution’s research in the area of agriculture.

Women who work in rural areas are the protagonists of two projects that take place in peasant cooperatives of the main municipality, located in areas such as Altagracia and La Yaba.

The members of the Gender Chair of the Camagüey-based higher education institution are inserted into the Agricultural System in the province for the development of international projects that contribute to generational work, says Yamilka del Carmen Infante Mesa, university professor and member of the institution.

Currently, one of the cutting-edge jobs it has in this area is Support for food and nutritional security with a gender and generational approach that is developed in the municipalities of Guáimaro and Jimaguayú, with great influence on young people and women.

Among the great variety of research chairs that the local Alma Mater of Camagüey has, the one in gender studies is inserted in the lines of research of the Social Sciences and of the faculty itself.
