Camagüey, Cuba, October 9th.- 56 years after the death of the Heroic Guerrilla, Ernesto Che Guevara, the local university community paid well-deserved tribute to whom is one of the main references of the revolutionary movements in the region.

Led by the Honorary Chair named after the Heroic Guerrilla at the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, professors and students gathered in the Mendive Hall to evoke him through art and thought.

With the presence of Gabriela Prince Pérez, president of the University Student Federation at the institution; Juan José Figueredo Frómeta, general secretary of the Union of Young Communists; and students and professors of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, several people were recognized with the True Revolutionary and Revolutionary Institution distinctions.

They serve as a stimulus to those who maintain an active participation in the activities of the Chair, political organizations and the faculty.

Likewise, as a tribute to Che, the master’s degree in science Darlin Rodríguez Peña, president of the Ernesto Che Guevara Honorary Chair, performed the well-known musical theme Hasta siempre, Comandante, thus renewing her commitment to the ideals of the Cuban-Argentine guerrilla.
