Camagüey, Cuba, Aug 10th.- With a variety of titles from publishers from all over the country, the Old Friends Book Fair will take place at the Casino Campestre and the Café Literario La Comarca, between the 10th and 13th of this month.
The summer initiative of the Enrique José Varona Provincial Book and Literature Center of Camagüey salutes the 97th anniversary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the 20th anniversary of the Literary Crusade, an event organized by the local branch of the Hermanos Saíz Association.
Yunielkis Naranjo Guerra, director of the institution, commented that the mornings will be dedicated to children with special presentations of texts for this audience, varieties of performing arts, and readings by writers from the Ácana Editorial catalog.
There will also be theoretical panels, exchanges with local and invited authors, musical downloads, a concert by the Municipal Bands and other activities that promote the habit of reading in all generations.
Yoanis Soriano, in charge of the Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda Literary Promotion Center, explained that they have the support of the different cultural institutions of the province, and the actions of the Fair will also reach the territories of Sierra de Cubitas and Guáimaro.
