The top leader of the Cuban labor movement exchanged with workers in several state companies that mark or contribute decisively to the development programs of the territory and the country
Camagüey, Cuba, Aug 5th.- The member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), and general secretary of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC, Spanish Acronym), Ulises Guillarte de Nacimiento, visits several labor groups of companies during these days of the state sector in the country.
«Above all to formulate a criterion on the behavior and effectiveness of the measures adopted to provide greater autonomy and flexibility to that socialist state company, which undoubtedly ratifies itself as the leading actor of our productive model of economic development.»
In this province, the top leader of the Cuban labor movement exchanged with workers in several state companies that mark or contribute decisively to the development programs of the territory and the country.
The tour included the Ignacio Agramonte Military Industrial Company (EMI, Spanish Acronym), which, in addition to fulfilling the state order for defense, contributes to the solution of other key sectors for hydraulic development, transportation or health.
“This entity is an example of the contribution of its technological infrastructure and the high qualification of its human resources to the linkage with the national industry, generating new offers to the people”.
“Without a doubt, the key contribution that it has in its linkage with other sectors of the economy is evident, and productions such as the furniture industry, the manufacture of mattresses, parts and aggregates for strategic spheres such as electrical energy, and sugar agro-industry”.
During the visit to the Ignacio Agramonte Military Industrial Company, the General Secretary of the CTC, Guillarte de Nacimiento, presented the group of the Composite Materials Unit with the “Proeza Laboral” Flag for the productive results of the first half of the year, mainly in the overcompliance the manufacture of mattresses to meet the needs of those affected by Hurricane Ian, after passing through Western Cuba; and more recently, the families that suffered damages due to intense rains and floods in the provinces of Oriente and Camagüey, production achieved in extended shifts of up to twelve and fourteen hours a day.
Another line of work, with many reservations, is the linkage with the actors of the private sector economy, to improve the offers to the population; and to increase the contribution of the socialist state company, «a commitment in which the Cuban trade union movement is dabbling today, to favor the increase of the offers addressed to our people, in physical productions and with the increase in labor productivity.»
During the visit to Camagüey, Ulises Guillarte de Nacimiento, also learned about the work of the Flexible Packaging Factory group, in which he appreciated the existing potential, «which makes it a pioneer company in technological modernization to join not only the substitution of imports, but also to the linkage with other industrial sectors of the country”.
By signing the visitors’ book, he recognized that “it is a group with high commitment and motivation. I was encouraged by its immediate prospects and a promising future”.
In Camagüey, Guillarte de Nacimiento also spoke with workers from meat and dairy products companies, two key lines in the province’s economy, «with a direct impact on the population’s diet, where an investment process of a magnitude and an important dimension in the modernization of the meat industry, also aimed at humanizing work, diversifying its productions and raising the level of supply to the population”.
Guillarte de Nacimiento appreciated in Camagüey the possibility of finding new reserves in the organizational and productive order, without ignoring the opportunities when effective chains are achieved that allow incorporating the potential of all the actors of the economy, and the improvement of the offers.
“Apart from the insufficiencies that are still present in the province, especially in these sectors of the meat and dairy industry, associated with the deficient level of production contracting; the territory has great potential and reserves, in those two sectors in which they are the leader in the country; and despite the difficulties, progress is being made in the design of policies and also of actions, to favor an increase in the level of supply to our people every day”.
Accompanied by the General Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the CTC in Camagüey, Yulián León Rondón, in the dialogue with workers and directors of various groups, the top leader of the Cuban Workers’ Movement, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, called on the workers to multiply the examples that demonstrate the leading role of the socialist state enterprise, through compliance with production plans in physical units and raising labor productivity, to meet the needs of the population.
