Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 26th.- The commemorative act of the Moncada deed, carried out in the municipality of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, in the province of Camagüey, constituted a stage to celebrate the advances of the town, the executed social works, but also a reason for inspiration in search of a greater productive drive that the most extensive Cuban territory needs.
In the midst of many difficulties, the demarcation of Céspedes fulfilled the plans for various crops of the cold agricultural season, the commitments with the Meat Company, retail mercantile circulation, cargo transportation, tax collection, financial management, and the increase in local development projects focused on food.
Pavel Blanco Martín, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC, Spanish Acronym) in the municipality, recognized the effort of the workers of these and other sectors who contributed to reaching the vanguard status in emulation for the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada barracks, in Santiago de Cuba, and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, in Bayamo.
During his speech at the central event in Camagüey, the leader expressed that despite not reaching the goals in the sugar sector, the sugar mill achieved the largest volume of sweets in the province.
Regarding the social sphere, he highlighted the results of education, health, culture, sports, social work, the administration of justice, community services, aqueduct, communications and the Electric Company.

In the central words, Federico Hernández, member of the Central Committee of the PCC and first secretary of the political organization in the region, congratulated the people of Cespedeños for hosting the festivities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Moncadista feat, and called on them to continue working on the revival of their main socioeconomic activities.
At the same time, he mentioned food production, the recovery of the sugar cane activity, and the food industry sector among the urgent tasks with the purpose of revitalizing the province’s economy and responding to the growing demand of the population.
He also urged to transform the Maternal and Child Program, deepen the fight against the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the main transmitter of dengue, Zika, and chikungunya, and improve the quality of medical care and other services in the territory.
At the end of the political-cultural event, in the courtyard of the Municipal Culture House, Federico Hernández, Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia, governor, and authorities from the 13 municipalities of Camagüey, toured some renovated works in greeting to the date.
Today a small bus terminal was inaugurated, next to the railway station, through which the central line passes, which according to Noel Pérez Díaz, mayor in Céspedes, responds to an aging approach of district No.1 in demand for a parking space and to be able to take the vehicles from there.
In the same way, a bus was repaired for the Céspedes-Camagüey route, which had not been running for two years; a literary café arose in the local bookstore, and the youth club was rescued for the benefit of the recreation of the new generations.
The town’s swimming pool is already working, chlorine was supplied, and the El Caney complex, very close, sports a new image, with a reserved area and gastronomic offers.
Telecommunications experience improvements as the people of Cespedeños enjoy a superior quality of services such as Internet connectivity after the assembly of a 3G radio base with its new tower in the Estrella Popular Council, which facilitates better reception of the signal.
A comprehensive cabinet in the installation phase will allow the opening of 72 new telephone services at first to later increase those benefits, and 48 new data lines in the community of Piedrecitas, where these services did not exist.
