Camagüey, Cuba, February 7th.- The University of Camagüey (UC) Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz signed collaboration framework agreements with six Russian institutions during the second day, this Tuesday, of the 14th International Congress of Higher Education University 2024.

The Camagüey-based house of higher education, with the purpose of promoting scientific and technological development in different areas, strengthened working alliances with the Moscow Technological University (Stankin), the Puskin Institute, the State Technical University of Automobiles and Road Construction of Moscow (MADI), Moscow State Linguistic University, Russian University of Transport and Saint Petersburg University.

The meeting of Cuba-Russia rectors resulted in an exchange with Natalia Karpovkaya, responsible for cooperation with Latin America at the Federal University of the South, an institution with which the University of Camagüey has formalized relations since 2017.

With the Federal University of Lavras, the Camagüey campus also established a collaboration agreement that will allow technical, scientific, educational and cultural cooperation to carry out teaching, research and extension activities in areas of mutual interest, through the development and the execution of programs, projects and research.

Likewise, in the afternoon session Santiago Lajes Choy, rector of the University of Camagüey, spoke with a representation from the Dominican Republic headed by María del Rosario Melo Muñoz, rector of the Technological University of the South (UTESUR).

Strengthening the links between both parties became the fundamental purpose of the meeting, in which Yailé Caballero Mota, director of International Relations of the UC, Jorge García Batán, director of the “Enrique José Varona” Center for the Study of Educational Sciences also participated (CECEDUC) and Olga Lidia Pérez González, coordinator of the Ibero-American Network of Researchers in Educational Mathematics (REDI-IME).
