Today in Camagüey tribute of the new generations to José Martí

Camagüey, Cuba, January 27th.- From the early hours of the morning the characters from The Golden Age will be revived in the streets of the Ciudad de los Tinajones as part of the little ones’ tribute to José Martí on the 171st anniversary of his birth.

In the homonymous park, a floral offering will be laid to the Apostle of the Independence of Cuba by pioneers and workers from some 25 schools in the princely city, just before carrying out a parade to the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz.

At night the torches of the students and youth will be lit again, like that on January 27, 1973 with the Centennial Generation, to march from Martí Park to Plaza de la Libertad, the site where Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz will speak for the first time to the people of Camagüey after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.

Leaders of the University Student Federation and the Young Communist Union will be in charge of opening and closing the Torch March with their words as a sign of the historical continuity that is experienced in the nation.
