Camagüey, Cuba, January 8th.- The Batalla de las Guásimas plant, in the Camagüey municipality of Vertientes, is ready to, in the coming days, join the current sugar harvest in the Camagüey territory.

This was stated by Jorge Suárez Molina, deputy director of the aforementioned Agroindustrial Sugar Company, and specified that if the current weather conditions continue, they plan to begin the sugarcane harvest between Monday and tomorrow, Tuesday.

The Batalla will receive, in addition to the raw material from its own fields, links to the grass plantations of the Empresa Agroindustrial Azucarera Panamá, also from Vertientes, and the sugarcane entity Cándido González, in Santa Cruz del Sur.

According to the young manager, the main repair work was concentrated in the areas of steam generation, sugar manufacturing, the mills and the water pipeline, although the group has been involved in all of them with the purpose of obtaining more than 16 thousand metric tons of crude oil.

In Camagüey, the Siboney mill is already moving mills, in the municipality of Sibanicú, and in the next few days the Batalla de las Guásimas should be added, so if the forecasts come true, only the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes mill will remain, in the district of the same name, to complete the triad of industries active in the Camagüey campaign.
