Camagüey, Cuba, December 14th.- With the elegance that characterizes the dancers of the genre, they arrived at the Workers’ Plaza to attend the Danzonero Meeting of the IV International Camagua Folk Dance Festival.
Enlivened by the La Bella Época and Failde orchestras, the Cuban national dance is revered at the world meeting of folk dances, with the attendance of the participants in the event.
Both groups thanked the Jorge Luis Betancourt Provincial Center for Music and Entertainment and the organizing committee of the festival for thinking about the space, which has new appointments scheduled for tonight at the Caribe Cultural Center and on Friday the 15th it returns to the Plaza de the Workers, on both occasions with the presentation of the Failde Orchestra and various repertoires.
Ethiel Failde, its director, commented that the return to Camagüey pleases them because it contributes to the purpose of strengthening the genre and reaching deeper into the hearts of Cubans 150 years after Simpson’s Heights was played in the province of Matanzas.
Regarding the group’s projections for 2024, he announced that in January they will release the song Danzón para la espera, recorded with Silvio Rodríguez; They are also working on collaborations with Omara Portuondo and other international artists who will make up the new album.
