Camagüey, Cuba, October 19th.- The Chair of the Elderly of the Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz University has led since October 1st the event Old age, care and rights, voices and contributions of older people in Camagüey, which extends until the 29th , a date designated by the United Nations to commemorate support and care.

In this context, activities are carried out such as the panel Old Age, Care and Rights, which is hosted today by the House of Cultural Diversity, where the regulatory changes in Cuba that benefit older adults since the approval of the Family Code are addressed; In this, the elderly will be able to clarify doubts regarding the legal benefits they have.

For the next day the 27th, at the Casa de Abuelos located in the El Diamante neighborhood, a reference center for the quality of its services in the territory, another activity will be held with a variety of proposals for attendees.

One day earlier, on the 26th, the members of the Chair for the Elderly will arrive at the Manuel Ramón Silva y Zayas Nursing Home, the largest institution of its kind in the country.

Regarding this action, Ana María Ramos Monteagudo, president of the Chair, highlights that they will use materials provided by the Cuban Network of Care Studies that address comprehensive life care and a generational exchange will take place there.

Currently, the Chair of the Elderly at the University of Camagüey has 135 members in four classrooms; soon they intend to reach the figure of five through joint work with the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution.
