Camagüey, Cuba, October 19th.- As part of the activities in celebration of the Cuban Culture Day, the Camagüey Contemporary Ballet will return to the stage on October 20th, 21st and 22nd with a new season of performances.
The program includes the premiere of two works by choreographer Eric Rivera -with the choreographic assistance of Sophia Berger- as part of the latest collaboration with the company in the month of August.
Lisandra Gómez de la Torre, general director and choreographer of the group, explained to Adelante that during the alliance with Rivera the ties that had begun previously were reaffirmed.
“During his first visit in 2019, Eric created for me the piece Por el Tiempo, which we will perform for this show performed by the dancer Mariam Romero, which reflects the imposition of a woman who fights against her undefined lifestyles to achieve your personal goals”.
Likewise, he reported that the female quartet In the Void will be premiered and in a second moment the group composition Especie en Viaje, both with the contemporary ballet style that includes new dancers in the repertoire. “It is a choreographic construction that will lead these young people to integrate into a language that can strengthen them and encourage them to take their movements to another level”.
The galas that will be held at the Teatro Principal on Friday and Saturday at 8:30 pm and on Sunday at 5:00 pm, will close with the presentation of the Club Habana choreography by Pedro Ruiz.
