Camagüey, Cuba, April 4th.- It turns out that a couple and a pair of sisters make up the Camagüey delegation to the XII Congress of the Union of Young Communists (UJC), while attracting everyone’s attention at the youth event.

The first of the anecdotes is born from the love between the reporters Dania Díaz Socarrás and Jorge Enrique Jerez Belisario, who not only share dreams and projects in life, in the profession, in the motherhood and fatherhood of their little ones Aliz Laura, one year old. age, and Alejandro López, eight, but also their experiences as youth leaders in the communist conclave.

“What we are experiencing in Congress we will happily tell our children”, said the girl, who is also the provincial president of the Martiano Youth Movement.

Jerez Belisario is one of the four direct delegates from Camagüey to the great event and although he assumes the responsibility of the Granma newspaper, he was chosen by his colleagues from the weekly Adelante for his good professional and youthful performance during a decade of uninterrupted work.

Dania Díaz, who reports on the provincial radio station Radio Cadena Agramonte, assured that among her biggest concerns stands out, “how to tell the Cuban reality, its contradictions, successes and challenges in the broad digital ecosystem and its multiple platforms?”.

Her husband also stressed: “Young people, from their stage, have to be more connected to each other, like a spider web of social networks, to counteract all the lies that are spread about Cuba”.

For Marian Bacallao, who is a journalist, deputy to the National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP) and secretary of the communist organization at the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, being with her little sister in this youth debate is a privilege, “I think that very few delegates in the history of the UJC congresses have had this opportunity. I am excited to be a role model for my little girl”, she said excitedly.

Bacallao Padrón narrated that she even named her Yose and that now she has not only grown quickly, but like her, she follows the example of her mother, Eliette, «being a university student», she said.

Yoseline Ramos, who is a student at the Esteban Borrero junior high school (known as Ciudad Escolar) and head of the group, feels that being the only pioneer participating in the XII Congress of the UJC still surprises her, “because there are many classmates who deserved it”.

He also commented, “when you give me the floor, I will thank the Revolution for the opportunity to study that all boys and girls have, and I will also express their concerns about recreation for us and for Cuban adolescents.”

Laura Bacallao, who has a degree in Journalism and a professor at the Camagüey House of Higher Studies, assured that she will debate about the need to transform and enrich youth work in Cuban universities through sociocultural projects, “these are like a practical school, in which human values are formed, the same ones that defend our humanist social project”.
