Authorities analyze in Camagüey attention to combatants of the Cuban Revolution

Camagüey, Cuba, March 23th.- The provincial balance of attention to combatants took place in this city 65 years after the first concentration in support of the Revolution was held, at which time Fidel Castro addressed the nation from the old Presidential Palace.

With the presence of Yennis León Mayedo, vice governor; Rustan Rodríguez Rosabal, official of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and the leadership of María de los Ángeles Quesada Batista, director of Care for Combatants in the province, the work carried out during the year 2023 was analyzed.

In the space, the work of all the entities that are part of the Combatant Care System to provide help in matters of health, economy and social security was valued.

With the reading of the annual report, the practical difficulties that prevented the completion of the attention to the personnel and the achievements of various territories to counteract the inconveniences and fulfill the tasks were revealed.

María de los Ángeles Quesada Batista pointed out that in fulfilling the objectives of the past calendar, several aspects remained pending.

Among the points analyzed were the constructive rehabilitation of premises, the delivery of financial aid, the monitoring of those assisted by Public Health specialists, the delivery of resources and the carrying out of activities to honor the combatants and those who fell in the fulfillment of duty.

During the debate, those present at the balance exchanged work experiences and called for maintaining greater organization in the tasks in order to achieve quality in the services they provide.

In this context, the Outstanding category was awarded to the municipalities of Florida, Santa Cruz del Sur, Jimaguayú, Camagüey, Najasa and Sierra de Cubitas; as well as organizations such as the Provincial Directorate of the Elderly, the Ministry of the Interior and the Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja Military Hospital.

The Vanguard status was achieved -for the second consecutive year- by the territory of Minas Gerais for its constant work and positive results.

This system provides care for combatants of the Rebel Army, of the clandestine struggle, pensioners of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the families of those killed in defense actions.
