Camagüey, Cuba, January 28th.- This January 27, the evocative flame of the Apostle of the Independence of Cuba multiplied again, hundreds of young people united their torches as a continuation of that Centennial Generation that did not allow the liberating ideas that still sustain them to be decimated. the inhabitants of the largest of the Antilles.
Workers and students of all educations reissued -together with the people of Camagüey- the traditional Torch March that pays tribute to the National Hero José Martí, commemorating the 171st anniversary of his birth this January 28.
The light of the most universal of Cubans illuminated step by step the walk of thousands of faithful people from Camagüey and followers of their legacy, the colorful and multitudinous parade carries the same fire, the same illusions as 71 years ago.
The eve of José Martí’s birth is reborn among Cubans every January with more force and reminds us that «Homeland is a community of interests, unity of purposes, a sweet and consoling fusion of loves and hopes».
