Armando López Montero, who served as Mayor of the municipality of Camagüey, was promoted to occupy other tasks in the provincial government
Camagüey, Cuba, January 19th.- In correspondence with what was established in the Local Bodies of Popular Power in the country’s Government system, a new Mayor of the Administration Council was appointed in the municipality of Camagüey.
After the cessation of functions in that position of Armando López Montero, who carried out that responsibility, Lázaro Ernesto Echevarría Rodríguez, with results in his work as director of the Agricultural System, assumes the task.
The official and solemn ceremony of position -which took place at the headquarters of the Nicolás Guillén Foundation- was attended by leaders and officials of the Government in the territory, representatives of political and mass organizations, presidents of the Popular Councils, in addition to the members of the Council of the Municipal Administration and the Permanent Work Commissions of that body.
When reading the summary of the process of handing over and receiving the position, the representative of the Cuban Parliament and president of the Municipal Assembly of the People’s Power of Camagüey (AMPP), Dixamy Rodríguez Gómez, described the results and work history of López Montero in his management and called on the new Mayor to comply with the objectives set for the new stage of work.
In this sense, the President of the Government in the capital of Camagüey said that it will be a priority, even with the limitations that the country faces, to prioritize a group of problems related to the improvement of the basic services that the population receives and the improvement of the quality of life.
As part of the improvement of the Local Bodies of Popular Power and the implementation of the new structure, the management of the Municipal Administration Council will also give priority to the production and marketing of food, the local manufacture of construction materials, the attention to families living in vulnerable situations and other activities with social and economic impact.
