Camagüey, Cuba, January 16th.- The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCPCC, Spanish Acronym) and president of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, regretted the death of Yurislenia Pardo Ortega, president of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC, Spanish Acronym) in Camagüey.

The Head of State sent “our hug and heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the journalistic community that has received the unfortunate news with great shock”.

On the social network itself, Federico Hernández Hernández, also a member of the CCPCC and first secretary in Camagüey territory, expressed that “his brief and intense life, his personality, professionalism and convictions, constitute an inspiring legacy and example to follow.”

Since last March, at the head of the organization, Yurislenia revolutionized the work of the union in the province and quickly earned the affection and respect of everyone for her drive and human values, to which is added the professionalism demonstrated in her reporting.
