Integrated work provided rural people with better use of forest resources without damaging the environment
Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 18th.- During 2023, the State Forestry Service (SEF, Spanish Acronym) and the Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians (ACTAF, Spanish Acronym) strengthened their working relationships, which translates into better results.
Arasais Martínez Borbón, specialist in Reforestation, specified that this year the SEF financed ACTAF, through the National Forestry Development Fund, 42 training, dissemination and environmental education projects, among others.
It was also possible to integrate small farmers into different tasks such as the reforestation of hydroregulatory strips, plantations, living posts and firebreak trails to protect the forests.
The joint work between the State Forestry Service and the Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians, in Camagüey, ensured that rural people properly use forest resources without damaging the environment.
