In Camagüey for greater commitment and joy for 2024

Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 13th.- The 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, in the province of Camagüey, has to become an expression of work, solutions to problems, commitment and joy, stated the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC, Spanish Acronym) and its first secretary in the territory, Federico Hernández Hernández.

On this occasion, due to its cutting-edge results, the main municipality will host the provincial event for the anniversary on December 26, and throughout the province of Camagüey the celebration will include an extensive program of activities with cultural, recreational, historical, productive and the inauguration of works of social impact.

This has been a year of profound complexities in the economic order, he stated, with a direct impact on the well-being of the people in the face of the unstable supply of food and basic necessities, the high prices and the notable effects on vital services.

The difficult situation faced by Cubans, and in particular, those from Camagüey, is marked by the intensification of the North American blockade imposed on the Island, which constitutes the main obstacle to the implementation of the National Socialist Economic and Social Development Plan until 2023 and the objectives of the 2023 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In that sense, he recalled that until June of this year the economic damage amounted to more than 13 million dollars a day in a context of crisis, also aggravated by the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic that still affect all areas of the socioeconomic life of the nation.

However, the commitment to grow as a people, he stated, allowed in this calendar to revive the productive poles and the areas of development of agriculture, to link and grow the productions of the food industry, to perfect commerce and gastronomy, to strengthen tourism with the opening of the Cayo Cruz tourist center, in addition to recovering the hydraulic, electrical and communications infrastructure.

Likewise, he mentioned the implementation of alternatives to ensure the sustainability of transportation and, at the same time, recognized construction workers for the execution of investments of vital importance for the province.

Also in the strengthening of the financial system, he pointed out the advances in the process of banking, in the role of global bodies of the economy and in the search for municipal autonomy from territorial development strategies and local productions.

In the field of sports, he praised the athletes who obtained notable results in international events, and who, through culture, brought art to the most remote places of the extensive geography of Camagüey.

With the Fidelista certainty that the Cuban Revolution is of the humble, by the humble and for the humble, vulnerable neighborhoods and people were served, with the prominence of the Camagüey universities, which he praised for their scientific and student potential.

Another January is approaching and with it, the brightest day of the year that marked the definitive beginning of the construction of the most just and humane social model that a country has ever been able to achieve, and in the duty of maintaining this endless and collective work that is the Revolution, we have to systematically confront the negative demonstrations against the country’s political system and values, he commented.

To do this, he noted, creativity and permanent study of national history are required, so that each Cuban has the optimism and confidence that together they can achieve new victories.

One of them, he maintained, will be the sugar harvest, which must become a popular endeavor to produce more than 38 thousand tons of sugar, a commitment that symbolizes the dignity and honor of the children of Agramonte.
