Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 13th.- The Business Group of Commerce (Geci, Spanish Acronym) in the province is at the forefront at the country level in the implementation of electronic payment through the different payment gateways and in the development of the banking process.

Among the units that sell the most electronically, the La Perla de Cuba Restaurant, in this city, holds third place in the nation, thanks to established strategies, such as measures in the distribution of profits that bonus the workers who earn the most, as noted Robert Larrinaga Quiñones, general director of the company.

Ismel Barrios González, deputy director of Geci, stated, there have been four months of intense work, in which they have concentrated on the preparation of personnel and the extension of services to all entities, before the end of the year and the end of the year the implementation process in the month of February 2024.

Banking, as the specialist pointed out, materializes in electronic payment, with the different payment gateways, in the extra cash register, in the use of virtual Bandec and in the direct debit of payrolls.

The first thing we encouraged was that all workers had their card, which is why the more than 10,400 workers of the Group have theirs or are carrying out the process of obtaining one, Barrios González pointed out.

In 1,016 units, the QR code has been established for electronic payment through the EnZona or Transfermóvil channels, leaving around 116 for such options, but the entity aspires for establishments to have both.

Barrios González highlighted that this variant is gaining followers, since until November more than 209 million pesos had been collected from electronic sales and services, which represents over five percent of total sales in the period.

On the other hand, the establishment of the extra cash service was forecast to be installed in 360 units, with 109 still missing to date that are in the implementation process.

So that the process is applied equitably in the communities, the Group works jointly with the Defense Technologies and Information Company (Xetid, Spanish Acronym), the Cuban Telecommunications Company (Etecsa, Spanish Acronym), the Joven Computer and Electronics Club and the Group Tourism Electronic.
