Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 9th.- The Union of Young Communists (UJC) in the province is getting ready to develop the XII Congress Assembly, which will take place in January 2024.
Since 2022, the organization implemented the Strategy for the protagonism of youth in the present and future of the country, which contains 82 actions aimed mainly at cadre policy, internal processes and political and ideological work with the new generations, of great importance. importance for the development of the congress, Kelly Álvarez Fernández, first secretary of the UJC in the territory, said at a press conference.
Likewise, a process of strengthening grassroots structures was undertaken that made it possible for youth to be protagonists in actions inside and outside educational and work centers, becoming more involved in supporting community tasks and different sectors.
Since the call to the XII Congress of the Union of Young Communists, announced on April 4 of this year, thirteen municipal assemblies and four district assemblies were held in the Camagüey region in the capital city in which more than a thousand delegates participated.
Among the issues most debated by the militancy, the provincial secretary points out the ideological political work, the growth towards the ranks of the Communist Party of Cuba, the skills of the grassroots leaders, professional orientation, the quality of recreational options and the presence youth in the socioeconomic development of the country.
Currently, 76% of the secretaries of the UJC in the territories that make up the province of Camagüey are newly elected.

Camagüey, with four direct delegates to the XII Congress of the UJC, will have 31 attendees at the national event next April, representatives of all sectors of society.
