Camagüey, Cuba, Nov 14.- Exemplarity and high level of commitment of its cloister and students in professional training; as well as a strong link with agencies and companies in the territory characterize the Civil Engineering career of the Faculty of Constructions of the University of Camagüey (UC) Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz.
Thus highlighted his boss the MSC. Mayrele Pérez Fernández, during the presentation of the race to the experts of the National Accreditation Board that during this week verify the results set forth by each variable in the Self-Assessment Report.
“The career has 52 professors, of them 20 doctors and 26 Master, who have broad participation in national and international events and have deserved a total of 11 awards of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba. In addition, their research is aimed at solving technical problems and social practice in the territory”, said Pérez Fernández.
We have participation in 42 research projects with impact on science and technical, innovation and postgraduate activities in lines of research such as construction and housing, heritage conservation, tourism, defense, information and communications technology, railways and roads.
Some of the most important scientific results have been conceptual, methodological and calculation bases for structural design in fire in Cuba, road safety studies for the evaluation of places with high accident concentration in the city of Camagüey and employment of Residual materials of the Heroic Vietnam quarry in mixture designs for hydraulic mosaics.
As for students, it has a 255 registration in the day and 121 course in the course per meeting, all with broad relationship with companies in the territory, high participation in social and economic impact tasks related to the content of the specialty, in Student scientific groups and in extension projects.
From this specialty, the idea of developing in the National Academic Meeting of Civil Engineering students arose, which had its first edition in 2018 and then acquired an international character in which the Agramontina University deserved a total of four awards.
