Camagüey, Cuba, Oct 4th.- With various cultural proposals and initiatives to promote quality of life, the 14th edition of the Creation Festival for the Elderly took place in this city.
From the Nicolás Guillén Hall, in the Revolution Square Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, members of different community projects based in the city highlighted the contributions of older adults to society.
Among these initiatives is Bienestar, which promotes active aging and which meets every Friday morning at the Birthplace of El Mayor, the Heritage Interpretation Center and the House of Cultural Diversity.
Ernesto Mesa Pérez, project coordinator, invited the elderly to leave their homes and participate in the activities offered by the environment; «Together we can promote healthy lifestyles and not let the mission of older adults fall,» he said.

Organized by the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey, the Creation Festival was among the activities on the occasion of World Day of the Elderly and to address the demographic indicators existing in the region, one of the highest rates of population aging.
