Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 21st.- On the way to the 510th anniversary of the former town of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe, the Internal Trade Business Group in Camagüey resumes, thanks to the territorial contribution of one percent of the main municipality, the construction works of the emblematic El Gallo pizzeria, scheduled to conclude before February 2nd, 2024.

Ernesto Casas Escobar, head of the work and in charge of the Creation and Furniture with Art Group of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets in the province, highlighted that they began the second part of the project after completing, almost a year ago, the demolitions and other complex actions such as the foundry.

These tasks also included the construction of reinforced concrete mezzanine slabs, which provide greater durability over time; as well as the works on the roof of the first level, the elaboration area, services and the reserved area.

With an amount of around 34 million pesos, the property has the pending plateau to be covered with marble at this stage, along with the mastic on the walls and the treatment of the façade without neglecting its heritage values.

He explained that the offices, the electrical and hydraulic networks, and the stormwater registers are completely new, as well as the carpentry, the latter still unfinished.

The culmination of the civil works is scheduled for next December, and for this the brigade of the non-state sector is made up of plumbers, electricians, masons and macilleros, who also work on the false ceiling of the reserved room, on the bar and on other details that will provide the establishment with greater comfort for the provision of services.

Osbel Vega Vila, director of the Rancho Luna Base Business Unit (UEB, Spanish Acronym), which houses, among other facilities, the aforementioned pizzeria, explained that they plan to import all the equipment with advanced technology.

He took the opportunity to summon all interested parties under 35 years of age to join the new group that will be made up of 58 workers.

Mileydis Céspedes Hernández, director of the Municipal Company of Restaurants and Recreational Centers in Camagüey, shared other maintenance and repair actions in the different units, among which the Children’s House in the UEB La Glorieta and the recovery of Arroyón stand out, the latter with considerable damage after the rains last June and scheduled to be incorporated into the summer 2023 program.
