Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 21st.- The investment process in the first 1,200 rooms planned in Cruz key, located in the municipality of Esmeralda, north of Camagüey, has already been completed, as part of the tourism development in that environment that treasures numerous natural resources.

Added to the above are the heritage values ​​of the nearby community of Jaronú which, as a link between the aforementioned key and this city, deserves distinctive attention, informed Pablo Hernández Martínez, director of the Construction Company of Works for Tourism (ECOT, Spanish Acronym).

He commented that the ECOT, in addition to fulfilling its state mandate, prioritizes the repair of institutions in the Education and Public Health sectors, the construction of houses and pit covers, the assembly of a bio-healthy gym, and they plan to support a patching brigade to improve roads.

Another of the company’s lines of work, since its creation 10 years ago, has been the incorporation of added value to the more than 30 tons that are generated monthly from the manufacturing process itself, with the purpose of making the most of the local production of construction materials for the benefit of the entity and the population, he added.

Based on this strategy, he specified, the waste is ground to obtain aggregates, hexagonal slabs, benches and pots, while lamps are made with the tubes, and it is intended to begin using steel for the manufacture of blacksmiths and balusters.

In the aspiration of achieving a more prosperous company, they also have an ice plant, equipment for washing buses, they venture into agricultural work with almost six caballerias of land for self-consumption and guarantee that once a month specialist from different branches of medicine provide their services to the work staff, assured Hernández Martínez.

With the University of Camagüey, Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz highlighted that they maintain a close collaboration, for the application of research projects, and the performance of students in the works during their work practices, which enriches the innovative and scientific work of the workers.
