Recovery tasks continue in Camagüey after heavy rains

Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 17th.- The intense rains that affected the province of Camagüey last June caused great damage in several demarcations of the main municipality.

From the first moments, we work uninterruptedly on recovery efforts and support for dignified families.

In the Consejo Popular Previsora, considerable losses were recorded. Luis Manuel Velazco Tamarí, specialist in charge of the area, pointed out that of the constituencies served by 44, it was where the greatest number of affectations occurred.

In it, 114 houses with havoc were quantified and 65 were left in a vulnerable situation, to support these family nuclei, a group of actions are carried out that include the work of different sectors such as Public Health, Education and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER).

Velazco Tamarí stated that some of the victims have already received material and food donations from the new economic actors in the municipality, in addition, agricultural fairs are held in these areas so that the population can purchase various products.

The Consejo Popular Previsora ​​continues to work to support families affected by the heavy rains and floods in June, together with the continuous work of the Preventive Work Group in neighborhoods that present vulnerable situations.
