Camagüey, Cuba, April 1st.- As an indispensable artist to understand the evolution of traditional and popular culture Reinaldo Echemendía Estrada, director of the Camagüey Folkloric Ballet, celebrates these days 50 years of artistic life.

In order for the occasion to have the deserved highlight, local creators, authorities from the cultural sector and several Cuban personalities joined together to celebrate half a century of art and folklore from their native Ciudad de los Tinajones.

Echemendía ‘s pedagogical imprint and the retrospective of his career, visual arts exhibitions, lots of dance and music will converge on the main stages of the city.

Essential moments will be the opportunity for the public to interact with the most representative of his creative work, from Mozart’s Little Serenade to fragments of works such as Un Sueño Abakuá and Comparseando; In addition, the documentary Somos Olorum, by director Norlys Guerrero Pi, will be released.

Thank you to my country first of all for giving me the opportunity, then to all the teachers I have, to my family and to this beautiful life that I was able to live in Cuba. I have been very daring, a fighter who knew how to take advantage of opportunities, who had the will to do something that would last, with the sole idea of always leaving a trail of light along the way», said Reinaldo Echemendía Estrada.
