Camagüey, Cuba, Nov 3rd.- During the first two months of the current cold season (September and October) a total of six thousand 045 hectares of vegetables, vegetables and grains were planted in the municipality.

Julio Velázquez Ávila, delegate of Agriculture in the province, said that this volume represents 87 percent of what was projected for the stage, affected by the deficit of some resources.

He explained that, although what was planned with respect to beans is not achieved due to lack of seed, grains are oversupplied since those areas were used for corn.

This product must be harvested on December 15th, of which a large part will be destined for sale to the population and the rest for animal consumption, such as pork and poultry.

At this time, the planting of sweet potatoes and vegetables is also surpassed, so varieties such as tomato and lettuce, among others, will be guaranteed for the end of the year celebrations.

In Camagüey, great efforts are being made in the different agricultural groups with the purpose of closing the current calendar with cassava plantations that exceed 12 thousand hectares.
