Day of geological and mining activity commemorated in Camagüey

Camagüey, Cuba, October 25th.- 63 years after the nationalization of the mining industry in Cuba by the Revolutionary Government, this October 24th the Camagüey Geominera Company commemorated the Mining Geologist Worker’s Day.

The event was conducive to recognizing people with more than 40 years dedicated to the sector, vital in obtaining minerals used for the development of the country.

Likewise, the notable members of Geominera, a territorial institution with practices in Ciego de Ávila, Camagüey and Las Tunas, were honored.

Due to the over-compliance in the indicators and the willingness of the group to be participants in all the tasks, the Assurance and Transportation Base Business Unit deserved the title of Outstanding in the Conference for geological and mining activity.

During the event, Hanler Ramírez Durán, president of the Camagüey branch of the Cuban Society of Geology, referred to the importance of the tasks in this sphere; The central words were given by Lyan Alonso Alfonso, general secretary of the Provincial Bureau of the Energy and Mines Union.

Likewise, Roberto Conde Silverio, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, read the congratulations sent to the union staff by Federico Hernández Hernández , first secretary of the body in the province.

Geominera Camagüey Company has as its main state order the export of minerals, in addition, it has national sales production that is in great demand inside and outside the Camagüey territory.
