Camagüey, Cuba, October 23th.- In the midst of the limitations of fuel, tires and batteries imposed by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government on Cuba, the transportation sector in the province of Camagüey uses alternatives that allow maintaining the vital service.

Miguel Arias Vázquez, provincial director of Transportation, commented to the Cuban News Agency that among the main measures currently implemented in the territory, Operation Sensitivity stands out, for which 56 cars are used on a daily average that ensure transportation in 252 trips of 756 passengers.

This Camagüey initiative that began in 2019 with the administrative drivers, although it does not satisfy all the demand, explained that it has demonstrated a higher level of commitment of managers and drivers to the task.

Even, he said, the means of transportation of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government, the Ministry of the Interior and the Revolutionary Armed Forces have also been incorporated into the routes of the main corridors of the demarcation, including Casino-Modelo, Calle Cuba-Rafelita, Rafelita-Casino Campestre and Ferro-Ómnibus bound for the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz.

This service, he added, is enhanced during peak hours from 6:30 am to 8:30 am and in each of the piqueras the popular inspectors maintain strict control of the vehicles that must work during the day and define the number of trips and the routes according to the needs of the population.

Rodríguez Dávila asserted that in the country, through the application of closed financing schemes in the sector and thanks to the effort and innovation of workers, progress has been made in the recovery of 1,500 pieces of equipment that were paralyzed.
