Camagüey, Aug 17th.- The recognition of the female leadership in transcendent actions for the social and economic advancement of the province is the focus of the celebrations for the 63rd anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), to be held on August 23rd.

In reporting this Wednesday the program planned for the anniversary, Yodelkis Fajardo Orihuela, general secretary in the territory, highlighted the granting, next Monday, of the My Productive Patio condition to the Jayamá Popular Council, in the capital of Camagüey, as of the existence there of more than a hundred plots dedicated to food production, one of the priority tasks at the moment.

The leader specified that the coming August 22nd, Najasa will host the headquarters of the provincial act for the birthday of the organization, moment in which the host demarcation and Sierra de Cubitas will be distinguished as Vanguard in the emulation of Camagüey, while the municipalities of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, Jimaguayú and Minas will be promoted as Outstanding and Florida, Guáimaro and Camagüey will receive Special Recognition.

She added that «this year has been gratifying, because at the national level five territories were selected as Vanguard: Sierra de Cubitas, Najasa, Minas, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and Jimaguayú, for registering superior results compared to the same stage of the past calendar».

Fajardo Orihuela added that in line with the campaign dedicated to the 510th anniversary of the former town of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe, current city of Camagüey, a volunteer work will be carried out on the 24th with the motto.

«The FMC in the province remains focused on continuing with all the tasks of the National Program for the Advancement of Women, and that so far in 2023 the incorporation of more women into employment has been achieved, especially in the new economic actors such as self-employment and MSMEs”, he pointed out.

He also made reference to the course of the process prior to the XI Congress, set for March 2024, which contributes to revitalizing organic functioning; delves into the main content that concerns them today and promotes the leadership of young people within the organization.
