Etecsa collectives in Camagüey stand out at a national level

Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 20th.- For excelling in their contributions and work, various labor groups belonging to the Cuban Telecommunications Company (Etecsa, Spanish Acronym) in the province of Camagüey deserved the status of National Outstanding, granted by the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba to relevant entities.

María de los Ángeles Mesa Pérez, provincial secretary of the National Union of Communications, Information Technology and Electronics Workers (SNTCIE, Spanish Acronym), distinguished among the honorees the Associated Telecommunications Center of the municipality of Jimaguayú, which despite economic problems exceeded its total income.

This group, although it does not have it as its main task, contributed to the agri-food program by planting each available area and participating in productive mobilizations, added the worker leader.

They are an example within the municipality of Jimaguayú, since they fulfilled the service plan with quality, contributed to local projects, their workers show almost no absences and even transformed their outdoor areas into a reference botanical garden, Mesa Pérez specified.

In Sierra de Cubitas, the Associated Telecommunications Center also deserved the status of National Outstanding, thanks to the fulfillment of its plans, the increase in economic efficiency, the establishment of measures that contribute to savings, discipline and the quality of services.

Likewise, the ETECSA Terminal Equipment Repair Workshop, located in the Julio Antonio Mella neighborhood of this city, received the distinction.

This entity, as Mesa Pérez pointed out, was also selected as the venue for the provincial celebrations for the 52nd anniversary of the creation of the SNTCIE, because it stands out in compliance with economic indicators, in the affiliation of its workers and in the savings of energy carriers.

The union representative added that they are one of those who contribute with mobilizations to food production and contribute to the recovery of parts and equipment from innovative work.

The communications sector in Camagüey has 3,323 members, of which 1,583 are self-employed, who support the offer of quality services.
