Canceled postage stamp for the 55 years of the Pediatric Hospital of Camagüey

Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 20th.- The cancellation of the «55th Anniversary» postage stamp of the foundation of the Eduardo Agramonte Piña Pediatric Hospital, in the province of Camagüey, was made in that medical institution, inaugurated on July 23rd, 1968, in this city.

Yennis León Mayedo, deputy governor of the province, led the tribute, accompanied by directors of the Cuban Post Office Business Group and the health sector, founders of the aforementioned assistance unit and workers with an outstanding career in the care of infants.

Martha María Rodríguez Gallo, who works as a nurse in the Endocrinology and Dermatology departments at the Specialties Polyclinic, attached to the hospital, expressed her satisfaction at participating in the emotional ceremony, in which the historical background of that institution was recalled.

She joined her, 55 years ago, as part of the first Pediatric Nurse Auxiliary course, which opened the doors for her, she stated, to later work in the Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Ozone Therapy services, work as a supervisor and years later fulfill an internationalist mission in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The Pediatric hospital is part of my life and that is why I always instill in the new generations of professionals the love and sacrifice for a job where, in addition to the children, we also have the responsibility of taking care of the relatives and worrying about them, so that they always feel grateful for the medical assistance we provide, she assured.

The event also recognized the small company Resistencia Estructural Logística y Eficiencia (R.E.L.E) and the medium-sized companies Rey de Reyes and Carrasco for the repairs carried out, as a donation, in infant care services, Nephrology and Cardiology, respectively.
