Camagüey, Cuba, April 7th.- With great volunteer work during this weekend, the activities for May 1, International Workers’ Day in Camagüey, will officially begin, with the aim of demonstrating the commitment of the people of Camagüey to the development of the country.

Like every April, the Cuban Workers’ Union (CTC) organizes multiple actions, which seek, in addition to celebrating the XX Congress of the labor organization, to honor the most outstanding and generate exchanges that improve union work.

According to Kelvin Kulley Pérez, member of the provincial secretariat of the CTC, the day of celebration for the Day of the Proletariat will be the appropriate setting to remember the legacy of union leaders who have become symbols, as well as to exchange with workers and seek alternatives to boost the production of goods and services.

Among the activities scheduled to celebrate the day is the declaration of prominent work centers such as Colectivos en 1ro de Mayo, the holding of an Expoanir called For Cuba together we create, as well as meetings with new economic actors with whom an exhibition fair will be presented.

There will also be exchanges with retirees, former union leaders, labor heroes and Playa Girón fighters, actions that, as the labor leader added, promote dialogue between generations.

Sports actions such as domino games, festivals of amateur artists, the beautification of groups, blood donations, among other actions will qualify a day that will conclude with the provincial event on May 1 in the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz.
