The men and women of urban, suburban and family agriculture in the capital of Camagüey strive to expand production and thus reduce high prices
Camagüey, Cuba, February 11th.- The Base Business Unit (UEB) of Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture, of the municipality, is preparing to increase food production this year.
Idael Bencosme Ramírez, the highest representative of this group in the territory, said that the commitment is to harvest more than 49 thousand tons of various products in the current calendar.
To make this purpose a reality, it is planned to reestablish all the areas of this UEB in the territory and increase the patios and plots that in the demarcation exceed 28,800 so far.
Another of their efforts is to produce the organic matter they need, in addition to six varieties of seeds, to guarantee the harvests of lettuce, chard, radish, cucumber and beans, their main crops.
