Camagüey, Cuba, Nov 16th.- Fruitful debates aimed at achieving better results on all fronts, characterized the Balance Assembly XII Congress of the Union of Young Communists (UJC, Spanish Acronym) in the Julio Antonio Mella District, of the Camagüey capital.
The meeting called for strengthening the functioning of the organization’s base committees in each work and student center, which will allow for better identification of problems and, at the same time, finding the most appropriate solution.
It was also advocated to achieve greater preparation of militancy and elevate ideological political work, based on a closer link with the different organizations in the territory.

Marcos Antonio Varona Carmenates was elected as the new general secretary of the UJC in the Julio Antonio Mella District, replacing Aracelis Tamayo Estévez, who will occupy other responsibilities in the Municipal Committee of Camagüey.
