Camagüey, Cuba, March 19.- Jean Carlos Moreno Oliver, a sixth-grade student at Pepito Mendoza García Elementary School in this city, was the winner of the regional One Health competition, which promotes early involvement in health-friendly lifestyles.
Directors from the Provincial Hygiene and Epidemiology Unit and the Department of Health Promotion and Education, sponsors of the competition, arrived at the school, children from different schools in the region participated in the competition.
In his drawing Jean Carlos encourages everyone to take care of the nation’s natural resources and protect the environment, as he understands their crucial influence on the well-being of people and animals.
This campaign, coordinated by the local government, is being implemented throughout the island. It involves multiple institutions and sectors, understanding the need for multisectoral approaches to the health challenges facing the species today.
