Camagüey, Cuba, Feb 10th.- Nearly 700 health professionals, including doctors, nurses and health technicians, received their degree as graduates of the Carlos J. Finlay University of Medical Sciences.
The ceremony was held with the presence of Federico Hernández Hernández, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary in the province, leaders of the territory, professors and a multitude of relatives of the graduates satisfied by the event that marks the 45 years of this academy.
From now on, more than 200 doctors, 29 entomologists and 430 nurses and health technicians will integrate the army of white coats; of these, 170 received the Gold Degree and others were integral vanguards in the spheres of scientific research, teaching assistantship, community impact and extra-teaching activities.
The graduates swore, before those present, to be faithful to the revolutionary convictions, their commitment to prevent and save lives, as well as to perfect and update their knowledge to be more useful to Cuban health; in addition, to turn their jobs into trenches for the defense of a more just and supportive society.
Daniela, Leysi, Yaine, Anis, Laura, Lídice, Thalia, Alejandro, Antonio and many others are those who led the quality of the new Public Health workers; they laid flowers before the monument of the seven medical students murdered by the colonial regime.
