Camagüey, Cuba, January 30th.- In the courtyard of the Hotel El Colonial, of this half-millenary city, the press conference took place to give details about what will happen in the city from February 1st to 7th during the Camagüeyan Culture Week.

On this occasion, the popular revelry will be dedicated to the 300th anniversary of San Juan Camagüeyano and the 175th and 45th anniversaries of the Teatro Principal and the Alejo Carpentier Gallery, respectively.

The inaugural parade will take place on Saturday, February 1st, at 9:00 in the morning, from the Plaza del Gallo with a parade down Maceo Street until reaching the Plaza de los Trabajadores, where the city’s Guiñol Theater will perform the play El ciclo sin fin.

The artistic project Tus payasos will be performing at the Casino Campestre at 10:00 a.m. while the inauguration of the National Handicraft Fair Arte 500+ will take place at the Fairgrounds.

The Cuban Magic Theater will have its space at 6:00 p.m. in the Plaza del Gallo and at 10:00 p.m. there will be the Reading of the Proclamation, a ceremony that each year inaugurates the activities for the anniversary of the former town of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe.

The festivities that will celebrate the history of a city with more than 500 years will extend to plazas, squares, parks, cultural centers, movie theaters, video rooms, museums, libraries and theaters with theoretical spaces, conferences and services for the local public.
