The center facilitates the characterization of liquid waste generated in companies and industries, monitoring of the physical-chemical quality of drinking water and the management of expired chemical products and hazardous waste

Camagüey, Cuba, Jan 29th.- The Camagüey Environmental Engineering Center (CIAC) carries out four projects as part of its activity aimed at sectoral and territorial programs for technological and socioeconomic promotion, in addition to customer services.
One of them, research and development, responds to the sectoral program Technologies for nuclear applications, optics, laser and ultrasound to produce and generalize goods and services supported by the Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies Agency of the country.
The other three, in the area of innovation, are framed in the territorial program Environment and sustainable territorial development, managed by the Camagüey Environmental Research Center (CIMAC).
Among its tasks, CIAC provides scientific and technical services -state and internal- to clients in the business sector, says Ediluska Benito Zamora, the entity’s deputy director of Research, Development and Innovation, Master of Sciences.
The specialist also pointed out that they carry out studies of dangers, vulnerabilities and risks of disasters of natural, technological or sanitary origin.
